Data centres account for an increasing share of corporate carbon dioxide emissions. That’s why the CIO needs to place firm demands on the supplier or their own organisation if the data centre is run in-house.

“A CIO, or management team, that doesn’t make an active environmental choice regarding data centre emissions risks being considered a polluter, something that could hit the brand hard. As CO² emission legislation becomes more and more realistic, they also risk the potential costs for short term actions to adapt sufficiently when regulation finally arrives”, says Lars Tisén, Chief Commercial Officer at DigiPlex.
