The Oscar-winning film ‘The Social Network’ tracks the founding of Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg, a college friend Eduardo Saverin and various recruits. In one tense scene, Eduardo Saverin, Facebook co-founder, whose relationship with Zuckerberg is fracturing, freezes the fledgling company’s bank account, temporarily threatening the site in order to gain his friend’s attention. Zuckerberg’s reaction is explosive:

“Okay, let me tell you the difference between Facebook and everybody else: we don’t crash. Ever!  If the servers are down for even a day, our entire reputation is irreversibly destroyed.”
